Cadillac's expansion plan is underway and its next move is the introduction of the brand new Cadillac ATS Coupe into the European market. Is Cadillac prepared to fight in a market already dominated by the big 3 Germans?
It's time to fully unveil this new American model (most European ever): I'll start by stating that there are no diesel engines yet…but is the 2 liter engine with 276hp a winning bet?
The 2-liter 4-cylinder block delivers 276hp, 400 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. This engine provides 90% of its efficiency between 2100 and 3000rpm, maintaining 400Nm up to 4600rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission and has an all-wheel drive system available as an option. Consumption is around an optimistic 7.5 liters per 100 km.
With just over 1600 kg, a ratio of 138hp/liter and a power-to-weight ratio of 5.8 kg/hp, the Cadillac ATS Coupe promises not to disappoint. But again, without diesel engines available it will be difficult to convince buyers.
The new coupé is based on the Cadillac ATS and is seriously committed to the luxury feeling on board. The quality of materials and a reasonable level of equipment were a constant concern in product development. We can count on adaptive bi-xenon headlights, vertical LED daytime running lights as well as LED taillights.

Inside there's no lack of Bluetooth, audio connectivity, voice recognition, text-to-voice (system that reads incoming messages), USB port, SD card reader and an 8” touchscreen in liquid crystal (LCD). And also a novelty: it is possible to charge mobile phones without using tricky wires, just place the mobile phone on top of the Powermat mat located behind the screen.
The instrument panel is also digital and uses a configurable 5.7-inch full-color screen. This two-door American is not lacking in music, as the Bose System promises to provide very relaxing trips to the sound of your favorite playlist, thanks to the active noise cancellation system.
There is also no lack of safety systems such as frontal collision warning, traffic light recognition, Lane Assist, emergency braking, among others.

Cadillac is carefully preparing the introduction of several models in Europe, they are: the new Cadillac CTS, ATS and ATS Coupe. Although the new Cadillac CTS already slides in some European countries, it has not yet reached the level of maturity of its German contemporaries.
The new Cadillac ATS Coupe arrives in October, but still without prices for the national market.
