Audi Ultra: ring brand adheres to “eco-friendly” versions

Audi has just announced the launch of a new model line: Audi Ultra. A greener and more efficient variant equipped with TDI engines from the Volkwagen Group.

Audi adhered to the fashion of the ecological versions, which from now on will be called Ultra, following the same philosophy of the Volkswagen Bluemotion. The new Audi Ultra models are in every way the same as the conventional versions of Audi, but with a more pronounced ecological aspect, thanks to the adoption of aerodynamic improvements and adjustments to the engines.

All Audi Ultra models will come equipped with the well-known 2.0 TDI engine, with specifications focused on energy efficiency, in the following power levels: 136, 163 and 190 hp. For now, only available in the A4, A5 and A6 range.

Starting with the base of the Audi Ultra range, the A4 Ultra will be available with the 2.0 TDi engine in 136 and 163hp versions. As for consumption, these vary between 3.9 and 4.2 liters/100km. CO2 emissions are also low, ranging between 104 and 109 g/km depending on the version. The commercialization of this variant is scheduled for May.

The A5 Coupé 2.0 TDi Ultra range will only be available in the 163 hp version, announcing consumption of 4.2 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km, values ​​that are in line with the A4 Ultra version. A trend that is not accompanied by the A5 Sportback version which presents a slightly higher consumption: 4.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 111 g/km.

Finally, the A6 Ultra range, in Sedan and Avant versions, which have the 2.0 TDi engine in its most powerful configuration: 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque (between 1750 and 3000 rpm). Equipped with the new seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox, the A6 2.0 TDi Ultra advertises fuel consumption of just 4.4 and 4.6 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 114 and 119 g/km, with the values ​​higher Lows relate to the sedan version. The commercialization of this version is expected to start in April

Audi Ultra versions can be identified by the 'Ultra' logo on the rear, technically adding manual gearboxes with longer gear ratios, the start&stop system and an integrated information system that will provide the driver with eco-driving tips. The changes extend to aerodynamics, with aerodynamic details at the level of the frontal area and the lowering of the bodywork. Prices have not yet been released, but the Audi Ultra range is expected to be cheaper than conventional versions due to lower C02 emissions, which are reflected in taxes.
