The Renault Mégane RS 275 Trophy-R beat the Seat Leon 280 Cupra record by 4 seconds.

The French brand has just released the video where its most sporty and sharpest model beats the Nurburgring record for series cars with front-wheel drive. The Renault Mégane RS Trophy-R completed a lap of the mythical German circuit in just 7 minutes and 54.36 seconds, around 4 seconds faster than the previous record set by the Seat Leon 280 Cupra.

Compared with the "conventional" Renault Mégane RS 275, this Trophy-R version is 100kg lighter. The absence of benches behind, the reduction of sound insulation materials, the use of a gel battery, the use of competition bacquets, among other things, explains this diet.
