City Shaper by MINI URBAN-X. MINI bets on national startups

Anonim

Presented on November 6th in Lisbon, the project City Shaper by MINI URBAN-X has a very simple objective: to look for startups and national projects that allow us to reinvent the way we live in cities, responding to current urban challenges, improving life in cities and making them more pleasant.

The City Shaper project appears as a way to make known the “entrepreneurship ecosystem in Portugal”, aimed at startups, entrepreneurs or national companies that have projects in areas such as: transport, real estate, local administration, food, water, waste and utilities (gas and electricity).

The presentation of City Shaper coincided with the opening of applications (these must be submitted through the link: minicityshaper.pt, by December 6th). As for the selection process, this will take place in two phases, with the selection of candidates that pass to the second phase taking place between December 6th and 11th.

City Shaper is an opportunity to bring Portuguese entrepreneurs closer to the international MINI URBAN-X program and we are clearly looking for real talent. I hope that there are many applications and that this program inspires different companies with innovative projects.

Micah Kotch, Managing Director of URBAN-X

Projects that pass to the second phase will have access to a Bootcamp where competitors will be able to improve their projects and respective presentations for the final pitch, which will take place on December 20, when the winning projects will also be known.

Finally, City Shaper winners will have the opportunity to participate in the MINI URBAN-X exhibition, which takes place in Lisbon from February to March 2020.

What is the MINI URBAN-X?

Based in Brooklyn, New York, the URBAN-X initiative is a MINI project and presents itself as an urban-tech accelerator. Created with the main objective of promoting urban mobility, this project selects, every six months, around seven startups.

The selected companies are then given a space to create, receive guidance from experts in different areas, and establish contact with investors to try to ensure long-term growth and business success.
