Bigster Concept anticipates Dacia's entry into the C segment

The next five years promise to be busy for Dacia. At least, that's what the Renault Group's restructuring plan infers, Renaulution, that even foresees a new SUV, based on the Dacia Bigster Concept.

But let's go by parts. After 15 years of activity, with a presence in 44 countries and with seven million units sold, Dacia now intends to strengthen its position.

To start with, it will integrate a new business unit within the Renault Group: Dacia-Lada. The objective is to foster synergies between the two brands of the Gallic group, although both will continue to have their own activities and identities.

A unique base and new models

Following the example of what has already happened with the new Sandero, the future Dacia (and Lada) will use the CMF-B platform, derived from the one used by other Renaults, such as the Clio.

This will allow the two brands to move from the four platforms currently used to just one and from 18 body styles to 11.

Using this platform, future Dacia models will be able to use, for example, hybrid technology. The goal? Ensure that they too can continue to comply with increasingly stringent emissions standards.

In addition to all this, Dacia is also preparing to launch three new models by 2025, one of which, based on the revealed Bigster Concept, also means a direct entry into the C-segment.

The Dacia Bigster Concept

At 4.6 m long, the Dacia Bigster Concept will not only be the Romanian brand's bet for the C-segment, but will also establish itself as the top of the Dacia range.

Described as the incarnation of the brand's evolution, the Bigster Concept profiles itself as a (not direct, of course) successor to Lodgy, the seven-seat MPV that will soon cease to function.

Dacia Bigster Concept

Aesthetically, the Bigster Concept embodies and as might be expected, evolves Dacia's signature design elements. A good example of this is the luminous signature in “Y”.

With the creation of the Dacia-Lada business unit, we are going to take full advantage of the CMF-B modular platform, to increase our efficiency, competitiveness, quality and attractiveness of our cars. We will have everything to bring the brand to new heights, with the Bigster Concept leading the way.

Lada also enters the accounts

If Dacia is preparing to launch three models by 2025, Lada is not far behind and plans to launch a total of four models by 2025.

Also based on the CMF-B platform, some of them will have LPG engines. Another forecast is that the Russian brand will also enter the C segment.

Lada Niva Vision
The Lada Niva will meet its successor in 2024 and, judging by the prototype that anticipates it, should remain faithful to the shape of the original.

As for the famous (and almost eternal) Lada Niva, the replacement is promised for 2024 and will be based on the CMF-B platform. Available in two sizes (“Compact” and “Medium”) it will stay true to all-wheel drive.

While we don't know him, Lada released an image that allows us to foresee a look strongly inspired by the original.

Finally, and just out of curiosity, the original Niva, a few years ago known only as the Lada 4×4 — the Niva name had passed to a Chevrolet model —, saw the name with which it became famous returned to its name. now to be known as Niva Legend.
