After 40 years on the market, two million units sold and three generations, the Renault Traffic saw the Combi and SpaceClass (the passenger transport range) versions revamped. The goal? Ensure that it remains current in a traditionally very competitive segment.

Aesthetically, the objective was to bring Trafic's style closer to that of the most recent products in the Renault range. This way we have a new hood, front grille and a new bumper.

To these are also added the also new full LED headlamps with the luminous signature in the form of “C” typical of Renault, electrically folding mirrors and new 17” wheels.

As for the interior, the new dashboard houses the Renault Easy Link multimedia system. With an 8” screen, this system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, the Trafic Combi and SpaceClass also have an induction smartphone charger and a total storage volume of 88 liters in the cabin.

Enhanced security

As expected, Renault took advantage of this renewal of the Trafic Combi and SpaceClass to reinforce the offer of safety equipment and driving assistance.

Thus, the Trafic Combi (destined to the professional sector) and the SpaceClass (more designed for families) have systems such as the adaptive speed regulator, the active emergency braking, or the warning of involuntary lane change. To these are also added the blind spot warning device and a new front airbag (designed for the presence of two passengers).

Like the exterior, the interior is also much closer to that of other Renault models.

Engines? All Diesel of course

Confirming that among the models derived from commercials, Diesel is still king, the renewed Renault Trafic has three diesel engines.

At the base of the range we find the new dCi 110 exclusively associated with a manual transmission, above this we also have the new dCi 150 with manual or automatic EDC transmission. At the top of the range we find the dCi 170 which is only available with an EDC automatic transmission. Common to the three engines is the fact that they are associated with Stop & Start technology and are compatible with the Euro 6D FULL standard.
