Mercedes-AMG took advantage of the New York Motor Show to reveal the renewed Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 4MATIC+ — both the regular bodywork and the “coupé” and complemented by the more powerful S version. Between aesthetic changes and technological improvements, you are kept up to date with the details of the Nürburgring record holder.
On the outside, the novelties are discreet, with the new LED headlamps, new taillights and trapezoidal tailpipes. Another highlight is the new Graphite Gray color and the possibility of equipping the GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ and GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé with new 21” wheels.
If novelties are scarce abroad, the same is not true for the interior. In this renovation, Mercedes-AMG SUVs received a renewed instrument panel, a new AMG steering wheel and even the MBUX system that can be controlled via the touchscreen, a touchpad, voice commands and even (as an option) via of gestures.
The mechanics of a record holder
Under the hood of the renovated SUV we find the same 4.0 V8 so far used. On the GLC 63 4MATIC+ it offers 476 hp and 650 Nm. On the GLC 63 S 4MATIC+, on the other hand, power rises to 510 hp and torque to 700 Nm.

Linked to the 4.0 V8 is the Speedshift MCT nine-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. In this renovation, Mercedes-AMG SUVs also received a new driving mode, the "Slippery", which joins the modes "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport+", "Individual" and "RACE" (only available in S versions).
The GLC 63 4MATIC+ Coupé was also renewed.
In terms of performance, Mercedes-AMG announces a time from 0 to 100 km/h of 4.0s for the GLC 63 and 3.8s for the GLC 63 S. The maximum speed is 250 km/h (270 km/h) km/h with the AMG Driver's Package) for the “normal” GLC 63 4MATIC+ and 280 km/h for the S versions.
As for the connections to the ground, these are ensured by the Ride Control+ suspension. In case you don't remember, the GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ is the fastest SUV on the Nürburgring with a time of 7min49.37s.
