Citroën returns to avant-garde design

Citroën wants to return to its origins. The avant-garde approach that earned the French brand some of its best models is back.

In an interview with Automotive News, Mathieu Bellamy, director of strategy at Citroën says that the unique, irreverent and avant-garde design that marked the French brand's models in the 60s, 70s and 80s will be one of the brand's trump cards in this reinvention process that began with the C4 Cactus. “From 2016 onwards, each car launched annually will be quite different from its competitors”, says the director of Citroën.

Citroën plans to maintain irreverence in its design department by transporting some elements of the Cactus M Concept to future production models. A paradigm shift, already visible on the C4 Cactus, and which has been welcomed by customers.

Thus, it is expected that the next Citroën C4 and C5 will have versions quite different from the current ones. According to Citroën, the Aircross Concept (in the highlighted image), presented earlier this year, represents the future of the brand.
