Official. Audi announces the end of the TT and in its place will be an electric

The confirmation came at Audi's annual shareholders meeting and was given by the brand's CEO, Bram Schot, who confirmed that, with the aim of focusing on electrification and sustainable mobility, Audi will eliminate several models that no longer make sense in economic terms, giving as an example precisely the… Audi TT.

According to the CEO of Audi, the iconic coupé, whose origins date back to 1998, after the end of the current generation's commercial career, it will be replaced “by a new electric “emotional” model in the same price range”.

Replacing the Audi TT with an electric model is in line with Audi's medium-term plans. According to Schot, the brand wants to have in the medium term “the greatest variety of electric models among the premium competitors“, assuming as a goal to have in 2025 a total of 30 electrified models, 20 of which are fully electric.

A8 and R8 are also electrified?

In addition to the disappearance of the Audi TT and the electrification of its successor, Audi also puts forward the possibility of electrifying the A8, with Schot saying, “The next generation Audi A8 may very well be all electric. Nothing has been decided yet, but it's possible”, adding that the successor to the top of the range could even be a “completely new concept”.
