McLaren 650S Spider celebrates Can-Am's 50th anniversary. Hurry up, only 50 units will be manufactured.

For the past 50 years, the American Can-Am Championship has brought names such as Bruce McLaren, Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill to its circuits. A championship that now celebrates 50 springs and that McLaren wants to honor by launching a special version of the Mclaren 650S Spider, evocative of the 5 consecutive titles collected by the English brand at Can-Am.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Bruce Mclaren: 44 years after his death

Available in Mars Red, Papaya Spark and Onyx Black the charming 650S Spider gives us the subtlety of a hard top with the possibility of transforming into a convertible. To make it more vintage, we find wheels finished in black lacquer, inspired by the race cars of the 60’s.

McLaren has always given importance to small details, both visually and in terms of performance. That's why the brakes are ceramic, the front of the S650 Spider is made of carbon fiber and the generous exhausts in polished stainless steel. In terms of engine, the McLaren Spider 650s continues with the fuzzy 3.8 liter V8 bi-turbo engine with an incredible 650hp and 678Nm of torque. These numbers could only result in a top speed of 328km/h.

For those interested (attention, only 50 units will be manufactured), the McLaren will be available next spring. Prices start at £255,850 (€345,700), excluding legal and transport charges.
