The years pass but the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR remains one of the most extreme road cars ever.
Created in the late 90's so that Mercedes-Benz could homologate the competition version in the GT1 category of the FIA GT, the CLK GTR was limited to only 25 produced copies.
Compared to the track version, it stands out only for its slight aerodynamic changes and for “perks” such as leather finishes, air conditioning and traction control.
As for the engine, it is a naturally aspirated V12 block with 6.9 liters that delivers 612 hp of power and 775 Nm of maximum torque. Thanks to these numbers — and a weight of 1545 kg — Mercedes-Benz claimed a top speed of 321 km/h and only 3.8s in the acceleration exercise from 0 to 100 km/h.
Everything around this CLK GTR is impressive and that's before we know all the secrets it hides, such as the fire suppression system or the hydraulic system capable of lifting the vehicle.
