The information put forward today by the ACP in a statement confirms what had already been advanced in 2013 by the president of the ACP, Carlos Barbosa. In response to the appeals of fans in the North of the country and after gathering the necessary support, the Rally de Portugal 2015 will take place in the North of Portugal.
There were ten consecutive editions held in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo, but now the Vodafone Rally de Portugal is heading to other places: the north of the country.

The organization of Vodafone Rally de Portugal thanks, in a statement, the involvement and availability of all those who supported the holding of the Rally de Portugal in the last ten editions. Now it's packed with suitcases to the North.
The municipalities involved
Amarante, Baião, Caminha, Fafe, Guimarães, Lousada, Matosinhos, Mondim de Basto, Ponte de Lima, Valongo, Viana do Castelo and Vieira do Minho. In addition to the main sponsors (Vodafone, Turismo de Portugal and BP) these are the municipalities that support the organization of the Rally de Portugal 2015.
It will take place in the month of June
Warmer temperatures are expected for this Rally de Portugal 2015. With the need to prepare the roads on the table, the Automóvel Clube de Portugal asked the FIA and the championship promoter to move the event date to the month of June.
Portugal Rally Center 2015 will be at Exponor
The center of Rally de Portugal 2015, which includes the command post, the assistance park and the closed park, will be located at Exponor, in the city of Matosinhos. The ACP also reveals that this will be a compact race as much as possible, exclusively in the region north of the Douro River.

Organization doesn't forget Algarve support
The support provided to the competition by the municipalities of Algarve and Baixo Alentejo involved in the rally's itinerary – Almodôvar, Faro, Loulé, Ourique, São Brás de Alportel, Silves and Tavira – by the Algarve Tourism Region and by Parque das Cidades, the owner of the Estádio Algarve has not been forgotten. The organization left a thank you to all those who made it grow and helped to keep Rally de Portugal
Spectators' behavior was and will be fundamental
The organization thanks the spectators for their exemplary behavior in recent editions. The ACP also reveals that the maintenance of the rally in the north or south of the country depends solely and exclusively on the behavior and support of the public, as far as the safety of the race is concerned.
