Sherp ATV: Ready for adventure, rain or shine

Looks like it, but it's not a backhoe. The Sherp ATV is a Russian vehicle prepared for the most extreme adventures imaginable.

Are you fed up with the potholed roads that make your suspension go bad? From the rainy days that make the tightest turns difficult? For just over 57 thousand euros, this somewhat radical Russian model could be the solution for you. Designed by St Petersburg mechanic Alexei Garagashyan, the Sherp ATV takes the off-road concept to the letter, and it's easy to see why.

Equipped with a humble 1.5 four-cylinder diesel engine of just 44hp and a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Russian vehicle reaches speeds of 45km/h on land and 6km/h on water. But its main feature is its agility: with low pressure tires (almost bigger than the car itself), the Sherp ATV can overcome obstacles up to 70cm and rotate on its own axis.

The Sherp ATV weighs 1300kg and can carry up to 1000kg, more than enough not to leave out your survival kit. The base version is on sale for $65,000, about 57,000 euros, but for another 4,000 euros you can purchase the Kung version, equipped with new shock absorbers and renovated interiors, among others.
