McLaren 720S challenges 675LT. Which is the fastest?

The confrontation was scheduled between two well-known names in the automotive world on YouTube — the “face” of CarWow, Mat Watson, and the “rival” Shmee, author of the Shmee150 page.

Both at the controls of McLaren models, with Watson's 720S fighting the greater exclusivity of the 675 Longtail (it's a limited edition) by Shmee, thanks to the most current “weapon”.

The McLaren 720S has been making life black for everything that is machine, defeating all its direct and indirect rivals, in acceleration events like this one. Will it also be able to take out the older “brother” 675LT, released a few years earlier, albeit super focused on circuit performance?

Unlike the current rival, which boasts an older version of the V8 block, with 3.8 l, delivering precisely 675 hp and 700 Nm of torque, the 720S already has an evolution of that same block, with 4, 0 l, and guaranteeing 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque.

Second model born from the so-called Super Series, the McLaren 720S was the natural successor to the 650S, from May 2017

With both blocks coupled to an automatic dual-clutch and seven-speed gearbox, in addition to Launch Control, both the 675LT and the 720S can, from the start, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. Although with the 720S standing out, on paper, the result of a minimal advantage of just 0.1s — 2.8s, against 2.9s of the 675LT!

Evolution of the same 650S, although more suited to track use, the McLaren 650 Longtail, or LT, was presented at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show

The question is: will that be enough to win, over a distance of no more than ¼ of a mile, or 400 meters?...
