The British driver, who recently had the opportunity to test the new Mercedes AMG GT R, revealed his intention to help the German brand in the development of a new sports car.

With three world champion titles under his belt, Lewis Hamilton is without doubt one of the most highly regarded drivers of recent years, and it seems that Hamilton will want to put all his experience at the service of Mercedes-AMG in the production of a new sports car. According to him, the attention to detail that characterizes it could be an asset to the brand.

The intention has already been shared with Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, on the sidelines of the recordings of the announcement of the new AMG GT R – watch the video below. Speaking to Top Gear, the British pilot did not hide his enthusiasm:

“When they showed me the AMG GT R for the first time I started to have several ideas. In a conversation with Tobias, I told him "you have all this Formula 1 technology, you have the driver who is the world champion, let's do something together". One day I want to make a car with them, like a GT LH or something like that. A limited edition that I can test, configure, and have something to say about the design. When eventually they give me the budget to do it!”

Not being unprecedented, it is not every day that a pilot actively participates in the development of a production model. We can only wait for more news from the Stuttgart brand.
