Top up in 5 minutes. Renault presents hydrogen prototypes

Anonim

Renault, through HYVIA, the joint venture signed with Plug Power, has just presented the prototype of the Renault Master Van H2-TECH and the concept of its Hydrogen Refueling Station.

These prototypes are a first example of a unique and complete HYVIA ecosystem, including the production and distribution of green hydrogen, with a range of light commercial vehicles powered by fuel cells.

As such, this Renault Master Van H2-TECH has a 30 kW fuel cell, a 33 kWh battery and four tanks with a capacity of 6 kg of hydrogen.

With 12m3 of cargo volume and a range of up to 500 km, this emission-free commercial will be available in 2022.

I'm very proud of this presentation of our first hydrogen prototypes. HYVIA proposes hydrogen mobility solutions, with an offer tailored to our customers, to face the challenges of hydrogen mobility. HYVIA will be able to deploy its entire ecosystem in all territories and professional fleets, to ensure carbon-free mobility. HYVIA is advancing rapidly, bringing together the strengths and skills of two leaders: the Renault Group and Plug Power.

Together with the Renault Master Van H2-TECH van, HYVIA also presented a prototype for its own Hydrogen Refueling Station, which allows a refueling “as simple as a heat engine” in just “5 minutes”.

According to HYVIA, the "Hydrogen Refueling Stations will be available for purchase, rental or leasing", and "the hydrogen supplied will be generated on site, using water electrolysis or supplied in bulk, using semi-trailers with hydrogen tubes”.

A complete ecosystem

These prototypes are the first example of the HYVIA ecosystem, which includes the production (electrolyzers) and distribution of green hydrogen (Hydrogen Refueling Station), as well as a range of light commercial vehicles powered by fuel cells (Van, Chassis Cab and Citybus).

The next prototypes to arrive will be the Master Chassis Cab H2-TECH and the Master Citybus H2-TECH. The first is a large commercial with 19m3 of cargo space and 250 km of autonomy; the second is an urban minibus with a capacity of up to 15 passengers and an autonomy of around 300 km.
