New Renault Mégane RS with all-wheel drive and over 300hp?

Renault Sport is working "full gas" on the new Mégane RS. Four-wheel drive and a (a lot) more powerful engine are some of the possible new features.

According to Auto Express, a source close to Renault Sport has confirmed that the French model will point batteries to the new Ford Focus RS, a model whose production started in January and which will be powered by a variant of the 2.3-litre Ford EcoBoost block , with 350 hp of power and that allows an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

As such, the Renault Mégane RS, like the Focus RS, could abandon front-wheel drive and adopt an all-wheel drive system and an engine with more than 300 hp of power. Despite being able to count on an automatic transmission with double clutch, Renault will not have to give up the manual transmission as an option.

As for the design, lines similar to the base model are planned, in line with the brand's new design philosophy, but with an even sportier look than the current Renault Mégane RS.
