Koenigsegg One:1: record attempt at the Nürburgring comes out expensive

The super sports car was put to the test at the Nürburgring, and the result was one of the most costly accidents in memory on the German circuit.

After the end of speed restrictions on the Nürburgring, Koenigsegg returned to the “Green Hell” to try to beat the record for the fastest production car on the circuit, which belongs to the Porsche 918 Spyder. For this, the Swedish brand bet on its super sports car with power to give and sell – Koenigsegg One:1 – but this time, the plan did not go as desired.

Everything indicates that the driver (whose identity is not known so far) will have lost control at the entrance of the section known as Adeneuer Forst and crashed into the circuit's protection rails, ending up the car on fire. As per the rules, the pilot had to be transported to the hospital, but despite the apparatus, he did not suffer any injuries.

As for the Koenigsegg One:1, the sports car ended up in very poor condition, as you can see in the video below, but the brand has already confirmed that the model will be rebuilt soon to, who knows, try again for a world record at the Nürburgring .
