Alpine anticipates A110 from competition

While we wait for the new production A110 to reach our hands, the resurrected Alpine hasn't stopped. Perhaps the most surprising news remains the development of an SUV, but the French brand has continued to engage in more predictable activities, those we would expect to see in a sports car manufacturer.

In particular, Alpine is again present at the WEC – World Endurance Championship -, in the LMP2 category, having already achieved two podiums this season – Le Mans and Nürburgring.

And now lifts the edge of the veil on your next adventure on the circuits:

The tweet reveals the first teaser of the future A110 prepared for the circuits. From what little you can see, you can see an A110 that is more aggressive in appearance: there is a more pronounced diffuser, a tow hook and even latches on the bonnet.

Predictably, it should have a roll cage, aerodynamic changes and a stripped-down interior, just like any other competition car. Will the 252 standard horsepower hold up? And how much less will it weigh? We will have to wait and see.

Transforming the A110 from road to a competition model, approved by the FIA, will be in charge of Signatech. The aim is to create a European single-brand championship, which will start in 2018. Alpine hopes to attract around 20 riders.

In autumn we will learn more about the new model and championship.
