Alpine is not to be trifled with. It really isn't...

It's one of the most awaited models at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. And we'll be there when the cloth drops for the first time (obviously…).

Alpine's top manager, Michael van der Sande, decided to reveal more details of the brand's new model through his personal Twitter. And it did very well…

After showing us the fantastic work done by the Alpine and Renault Sport team in terms of chassis design – you can see the result here – now Michael van der Sande has decided to lift the veil on another very important point in a sports car: aerodynamics .

Although the new Alpine apparently does not resort to large aerodynamic appendages, both the flat bottom of the bodywork and the way in which the bodywork surfaces were studied should generate interesting doses of downforce.

Alpine is not to be trifled with. It really isn't... 19540_1

As we have already written, this model will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, which takes place at the beginning of March. And as we've already written (but don't forget…) we'll be there too. Our team will temporarily emigrate to this beautiful Swiss city with one purpose: to bring you the main news at first hand. So if you're not following our social media yet, please start following us on Facebook and Instagram (we have nice pictures, don't we?).

Porsche 718 Cayman in Alpine's crosshairs

Four-cylinder turbo engine in central position, rear-wheel drive and coupé bodywork. We could be talking about the Porsche 718 Cayman but we are really talking about the new Alpine.

The specific specifications of the model (displacement, power, acceleration, etc.) are not yet known, but for us it is more than certain that Alpine has a very well defined target: the new Porsche 718 Cayman, which is simply the reference in the segment.

Beating a Porsche model is not easy – so say the brands that have been trying to dethrone the 911… – but also, nobody wants to buy a war with the boys of the sports division of the French brand, Renault Sport.

The next few months will be interesting to say the least. And continuing to talk about the Geneva Motor Show, on another record, pay close attention also to this Kia debut.
