The French brand has just confirmed its presence at the Geneva Motor Show, most likely to present the new Alpine Première Édition for the first time.

There has been a lot of talk about Alpine's possible return, but for one reason or another, that return has been constantly delayed. The good news is that we won't have to wait much longer to finally discover the sports car that will bring the iconic brand from the Renault universe back to the road.

This sport is the Alpine Premiere Edition , a version limited to 1955 numbered copies of the Alpine A120. According to the latest rumors, this mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe may also have an "open-air" version. As can be seen below, the chassis and body will be made entirely from aluminium.

As for the technical sheet, the 1.8-litre turbo block – possibly based on the same block that we will find in the next generation Renault Mégane RS – remains a strong possibility, with a power that should exceed 280 hp. Alpine announces accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

However, since last month, the Alpine Première Édition can already be ordered through a smartphone application, available on Alpine's official website at www.alpinecars.com. To guarantee a reservation, Alpine asks for a deposit of 2,000 euros as a deposit.

The Alpine Première Édition will be launched later this year in 12 European countries (including Portugal) and later in Japan, with a price (in France) between 55 and 60 thousand euros. The Geneva Motor Show kicks off on March 9th. Until then, keep the video below, which shows the sports car still under development:
