Porsche 924 Carrera GTR goes up for auction

This Porsche 924 Carrera GTR will be up for auction next month, for a price between 630,000 and 764 thousand euros. There goes the vacation pay...

It is the most hardcore version of the «Ugly Duckling from Stuttgart» and will be auctioned on the next 28th of July by the Silverstone Classic Race Car Sale. Of the model you see in the images, only 17 units were produced for approval. Therefore, it is not surprising that Porsche has put all its technical knowledge into this model.

The engine is a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing more than 375 hp, the bodywork was lightened to the maximum (fiber panels and plexiglass glass), the interior reduced to the essentials, rollbar, four seat belts, among others. To control all the momentum generated by the engine, the suspension scheme was completely overhauled and the brake package was inherited from the Porsche 935.

The Porsche 924 Carrera GTR is like new and its speedometer reads just 109km. According to records, this car was serviced every year at the brand, despite having only covered a hundred kilometers. To date, it's the lowest mileage Porsche ever auctioned off by Silverstone. The new owner (you, for example…) will be able to enjoy a classic in "like new" condition, almost 35 years after it left the production lines of the house in Stuttgart.

If you want a more “domesticated” version, Sportclasse – a sort of “Porsche Natural Reserve” hidden in Lisbon – has 5 Porsche 924 Carrera GT units for sale. It is an equally rare version of the 924, of which only 406 units were produced.
