The Japanese SUV is scheduled for launch in early 2017.

It was about four months ago that the Japanese brand unveiled its new SUV, the Toyota C-HR, at the Geneva Motor Show, but only now the first details about the new model are starting to emerge. After the exterior design – which is based on coupé shapes with well-defined lines, aimed at a younger audience -, the brand unveiled the interior aspect of its new model.

Under the new design philosophy, the Toyota C-HR features a minimalist, ergonomic and asymmetrical instrument panel, oriented towards the driver, with an 8-inch touchscreen that includes the brand's navigation platform and the usual connectivity services. . In addition, the brand favored finishes and bet on high quality materials. According to Toyota, the new model will be offered in three different color schemes – dark grey, black and blue, and black and brown.

The Toyota C-HR is the second vehicle of the latest TNGA platform – Toyota New Global Architecture – inaugurated by the new Toyota Prius, and as such, both will share mechanical components, starting with the 1.8-liter hybrid engine with a combined power of 122 hp , which will have consumption of 3.7 l/100 km.

For the entry-level version, Toyota developed a 1.2 liter gasoline engine with 116 hp, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox (front wheel drive) or CVT (all wheel drive). The Toyota C-HR should reach Portuguese dealers early next year, with prices yet to be revealed.
