Peel P50, the smallest car in the world goes up for auction

For those who think current cars are too big, the little Peel P50 can be the solution.

If you have some “changes” saved up and you identify with the smallest car in the world, this news is for you. Originally conceived as a mere concept to see how small a car could be, the success of the Peel P50 eventually dragged it into production right after World War II. Of the 50 units produced, only 26 continue to circulate.

Powered by a single-cylinder two-stroke engine, the Peel P50 generates a staggering 4hp of power. The transmission is manual and is limited to three speeds, there is no reverse gear. Measuring just 1.37 m long and 1 m wide, the Peel P50 only has room for one person and doesn't exceed 60km/h – depending on the dimensions of the driver and the load (including breakfast).

This Peel P50 will arrive at Sotheby's auction through the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum, known for having the largest collection of microcars in the world. In addition to this, we still have the famous reputation that Jeremy Clarkson bestowed on him when he was still part of the iconic Top Gear trio. Watch the video below and get it.

The Peel P50 auction will take place on March 12 at Ilha Amélia (USA). If this business is still not ideal for you, you can always keep Elton John's Maseratti Quattroporte.
