This new version, which should reach the market only at the end of 2018, is distinguished, as explained to Automotive News by the boss of Mercedes-AMG, Tobias Moers, by the fact that it has a new six-cylinder 3.0 liter turbo, combined with a 48V electrical system. Motorization that, like the others already known, will not fail to be present in a varied number of models, which will adopt the same number.

It remains, however, unclear what power it will announce, with Moers only suggesting that "it should be more powerful than a 43s". Statement that allows us to believe that the “fire power” of the 53 versions can be around 430 hp.

In the case of the future CLS, the 53 will even, in this new generation, be the sportiest version of the luxury coupé, as the 63 will disappear from the range, to give way to an even more exclusive and powerful four-wheeled AMG GT doors, scheduled for 2018. The following year, in 2019, it will be time for the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupé and Cabrio.
