The successor to the acclaimed Honda S2000 could repeat some of the technical solutions of the new Honda NSX.
The succession of the Honda S2000 has yet to be officially confirmed, but Motoring believes the brand is working hard on that goal. By the way, Honda is one of the most active Japanese brands at the moment, with a succession of new models to be launched in recent months, and a renewal of the range that has not been seen for a long time in the brand founded by Soichiro Honda.
According to this publication, the new Honda S2000 will be placed below the «almighty» Honda NSX, and will resort to some of its technical solutions. At the back is the atmospheric engine and the rear-wheel drive at the expense of a turbo engine (spoken on the same block as the Honda Civic Type-R) supported by two electric motors installed at the front.
A complete paradigm shift compared to the old Honda S2000, even if the desired end result for its successor remains a sporty character, lively reactions and convincing performances. Motoring advances that the expected power for this model is situated at 300hp. It could reach the market in 2017.
