Jaguar XE Project 8: the Nürburgring taxi we've already driven

Anonim

What would you think if a taxi driver asked you for 199 euros for a journey of around 21 km? I'm sure you'd think he was crazy. But if we told you that this journey had been done within a Jaguar XE SV Project 8 with a professional driver at the helm and on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit you probably already changed your mind.

For all those looking for adrenaline, Jaguar offers the possibility to sit in the passenger seat in what is considered to be the fastest sedan in the world. Once seated in this very special “taxi”, customers can experience the sensations of riding the Nürburgring in just over seven minutes.

With a professional driver at the controls, this XE SV Project 8 developed by SVO (the special vehicles division of Jaguar/Land Rover) reaches speeds in the region of 241 km/h with the passengers of this “taxi” experiencing forces of 1.8 G in some of the curves of “Green Inferno”. This XE SV Project 8 thus joins the other “taxi” that Jaguar already had on the circuit, an XJR575.

The super sedan that the British brand has available to customers who can (and want) to pay the 199 euros is not just any XE. Fruit of the work of SVO, the XE SV Project 8 has a 5.0 l V8 engine that produces something like 600 hp and is capable of fulfilling 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 s, reaching a maximum speed of 322 km/h.
