New Mercedes-Benz engines developed in partnership with Renault-Nissan

As is known, Mercedes-Benz is finalizing details for the official presentation of the new generation of the A-Class, whose launch should take place sometime next year.

The German model derives from the new Mercedes-Benz platform dedicated to front-wheel drive models – which in total will give rise to eight new models, three more than in the current architecture. Although there is still no official information on who the remaining family members will be, it is not difficult to predict who the candidates are. In addition to the Class A hatchback (below) and the new three-volume variant, the respective Class B, CLA, GLA and, who knows, GLB branches are planned. Not forgetting the versions with the AMG stamp.

With these models will also be born two new four-cylinder gasoline engines, one with 1.2 and the other with 1.4 liters of capacity. These engines will be developed by Daimler in conjunction with the Renault-Nissan alliance.

These two new engines will only equip the access versions of the Mercedes-Benz range. They will be exclusive to this new platform due to the position adopted (in transverse position).

At the same time, the German brand is working on the successor to the more powerful M274, which should adopt the code name M260. This engine will be offered in 1.6 and 2.0 liter versions.
