In the aftermath of the Republican National Guard's Christmas operation, the numbers are not encouraging.
The Guarda Nacional Republicana, in addition to its daily operational activity, carried out a series of operations, throughout the national territory, between the 24th and 27th of December, aimed at preventing and combating violent crime, road inspection, among others, recording the following operational data:
Arrests:
- 72 for driving under the influence of alcohol;
- 19 for driving without a legal license;
Traffic:
- 11 643 drivers inspected and 2 768 violations detected, highlighting:
- 2,359 speeding;
- 231 for driving with a blood alcohol rate higher than permitted by law;
- 105 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection;
- 122 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or child restraint system;
- 91 for improper use of the mobile phone while driving;
- 46 for lack of mandatory liability insurance.
