According to the Sunday Times, cited by news agency Bloomberg, around 24,000 jobs could be at risk in Ford's European factories.
To support the news, there are not only the close to 70 million euros of losses, added by the American manufacturer, between April and June, in the Old Continent, as a result of a sharp decline in Diesel sales. At the same time, the Brexit issue, which could lead to the application of new tariffs on the import and export of cars to the UK.
A situation that is also seen as a heightened concern, reports the Sunday Times, citing what it describes as sources knowledgeable about the Dearborne builder's plans.
According to figures compiled by Morgan Stanley, Ford could reduce its workforce in Europe by up to 12%, out of a total of 202,000 workers — 12,000 of which in the UK.

Remember that, according to the latest news, Ford is considering the end of production of the Mondeo saloon, as well as the S-Max and C-Max MPVs. These models will be replaced by new SUVs and crossovers, which are currently more profitable.
Joint-venture as a solution?
These new measures, whose implementation is only expected to proceed within several months, could also lead to the creation of a joint-venture, with one of the European manufacturers, such as Volkswagen AG, for greater economies of scale.
