The final final decision on the future BMW i5 is approaching. It remains to be seen what format BMW's next “i” proposal will be.
During an interview, Ian Robertson, a member of the Management Board of Sales and Marketing at BMW, confessed that the brand is in the “final stage” of deciding which type of vehicle to introduce into the green family. The new BMW is expected to be dubbed the i5 and to play an intermediary role between the i3 and the i8. In aesthetic terms, it will either be an elongated version of the i3, a mix between MPV/crossover, or it will be a “pure and hard” saloon. In any case, Tesla's already confirmed Model 3 will be the opponent to be taken into account.
