SEAT el-Born points the way to electrification for SEAT

If there were any doubts about SEAT's plans to electrify itself, these would be easily dispelled by looking at the latest launches and presentations by the Spanish brand. But let's see, after the eXS electric scooter and the prototype of an electric city, the Minimó, SEAT will take the el-Born , the prototype of his first electric car.

Developed based on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform (the same used by the ID models), el-Born maintains the SEAT tradition of naming its models according to Spanish locations, with the prototype owing its name to a neighborhood of Barcelona.

Despite being just a prototype, SEAT has already informed that the model should reach the market in 2020, being produced at the German factory in Zwickau.

On the outside, aerodynamic concerns are highlighted, which translated into the adoption of 20” wheels with a “turbine” design, a rear spoiler and the disappearance of the front grille (not necessary since there is no combustion engine for refrigerate).

Mobility is evolving and, with it, the cars we drive. SEAT is at the forefront of this change, and the el-Born concept embodies the technologies and design philosophy that will help us meet the challenges of the future.

el-Born also has an advanced thermal management system that saves up to 60 km of autonomy through a heat pump that reduces electrical consumption for heating the passenger compartment.
