After having built the fastest bike in the world with your own hands – reached 333 km/h of maximum speed – and having transformed a Suzuki GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa into a two-wheeled «monster» with a rocket, François Gissy surprised us again.
This time the challenge was to build the fastest tricycle in the world. Like? Based on a relatively simple structure, he assembled a long tank of air and water, closed his eyes and curled his fist. Easy isn't it? Not really.
In the process, this engineer who when he's not trying to find absurd ways to defy physics drives buses, was subjected to a g force of 5.138.
This feat took place on the Paul Ricard Circuit. François Gissy was “clocked” at 260 km/h and reached 100 km/h in just 0.558 seconds – in comparative terms a Bugatti Chiron takes another two seconds! In other words, this tricycle is almost 5 times faster than a 1500 hp hypercar.
