Skoda plans to present more than 10 electric models by the end of 2022. In light of this plan, it is not surprising that at the next Geneva Motor Show the Czech brand will present the public with the Skoda Vision iV Concept , which shows how your future electric “Coupé” SUV could turn out to be.

For now, the final design of the prototype is still shrouded in secrecy, however, Skoda has revealed a teaser and two sketches that allow you to get an idea of how the prototype's shapes will be made based on the MEB platform (yes, the same one as will be used by the ID template family).

According to Oliver Stefani, design director at Skoda, this prototype will already present some of the design features that should characterize the brand's future electric models. According to Oliver Stefani, one of these traits will be the adoption of a light strip that crosses the entire front of the car, as you can see both in the teaser and in the shared sketches.

It seems that the Skoda Vision iV Concept should be very similar to the sketches released. At the rear, the “C”-shaped headlamps are highlighted and the fact that instead of appearing the Skoda logo, only the brand name appears (new “rule” started with the Scala).

Skoda enters the electric age in 2019

From what can be seen from the sketches and the teaser revealed, the Skoda Vision iV Concept should be presented in Geneva with 22” wheels, and its design is marked by the absence of door handles and mirrors (they are replaced by cameras), by the adoption of a wide front grille (even though it doesn't have a combustion engine) and also by the descending roofline.

But Skoda's electric future is not only made from prototypes. Also in 2019, the Czech brand will launch the plug-in hybrid version of its top-of-the-range, the Superb PHEV, which will also be joined by an electric version of the Citigo. For 2020, the arrival of the first Skoda models based on the MEB platform is expected.
