Since 2015 it was known that Lamborghini would leave aside the V10 and V12 engines and use a 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engine to equip its new SUV. What we didn't know – until now – was the maximum power Urus would deliver.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of the Italian brand, once again gave some clues about the future Urus, starting precisely with power. And they are nothing less than 650 hp extracted from the twin-turbo V8. It is also confirmed that the plug-in hybrid variant, which is already a certainty, will reach the market after the «normal» versions.

Speaking of the arrival on the market, Stefano Domenicali guaranteed that the Italian SUV should be available for sale in the second quarter of 2018. Production of the first pre-series units started last month at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. The brand's goal will be to produce 1000 units next year and 3500 in 2019.

Aesthetically, it is unlikely that the production model will depart substantially from the concept already revealed (in the images), with the final model being 4.97 meters long and 1.98 m wide.
