Thanks to the luggage compartment volume of 605 liters, the Golf Variant offers a generous luggage compartment even with five passengers on board. By folding the seat, the volume increases to 1620 liters of capacity.
If the luggage compartment shelf is not required, it can be stored under the luggage compartment's double floor – the passenger compartment screen can also be stored in this compartment.

The Discover Media navigation system, available as standard, has an 8-inch color touchscreen. This system is already compatible with the latest smartphones, thanks to pairing systems Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Through this system you will also be able to control the main settings of the Volkswagen Golf Variant.
This system allows you to switch, for example, from one radio station to another with just a gesture. In addition, it has a 9.2-inch screen, on which a 3D map can be displayed with all the information about the location.

Golf Variant Alltrack. ready for adventure
The version suitable for families who like to venture off the asphalt. Compared to the standard Variant version, the Golf Variant Alltrack stands out for its 4MOTION all-wheel drive system (standard) , greater ground clearance, protected bodywork with multiple elements and protruding stirrups, more robust bumper and many other unique features on the outside and inside.
Despite these characteristics, the Golf Variant Alltrack handles equally competently both on and off the road, thanks to 4MOTION, EDS and XDS+ systems.
The greater ground clearance of 20 mm, the Off-road driving profile and the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system allow Alltrack to travel on terrain normally only accessible to SUVs.
All these systems work around the 4MOTION system which uses a Haldex clutch to distribute power over the two axes – acting as a longitudinal differential.
Parallel to the Haldex clutch, we find the EDS system (integrated in the ESC electronic stability control) which acts as a transverse differential on both axes. Practical result? Maximum traction in all grip conditions.
Also, the Golf Variant Alltrack is equipped with the XDS+ system on the front and rear axles: when the vehicle approaches a curve at a higher speed, the system brakes the inner wheels to increase steering response and cornering stability.
The 184hp 2.0 TDI engine offers a seven-speed DGS dual-clutch transmission as standard. Thanks to this engine, the Golf Variant Alltrack can pull trailers with a maximum weight of 2,200 kg.

Golf Variant GTD. Sporty character, low consumption
In 1982 the first Golf GTD was released. A model that quickly became a reference among sporty diesels.
To enjoy the Golf Variant GTD version we had to wait more than three decades. A wait that was worth it considering the technical sheet of this model: 2.0 liter TDI engine with 184 HP and 380 Nm of maximum torque.
All this power allows the Golf Variant GTD to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, regardless of transmission type. The maximum speed is 231 km/h (DSG: 229 km/h).
A high yield that contrasts with low consumption. The advertised average consumption is 4.4 l/100 km/h in the version equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox (CO2: 115 g/km).
But it's not just the performance that sets this Golf Variant GTD version apart from the rest. The body design received several differentiating elements, customized to the GT style: exclusive 18-inch wheels, sportier bumpers and GTD emblems throughout the body.
family dynamism
According to the brand, the Golf Variant GTD has a dual personality. Thanks to the adaptive chassis (lowered by 15mm) it is possible to have a family or sports van as needed.
Through the central screen it is possible to vary the driving modes. In the «normal» mode, the «familiar» character stands out, while in the Sport mode, the sportier aspect of this model comes to the top.
The engine gains a more immediate response, the suspension is firmer, the steering gains a more direct feel and the XDS+ electronic differential adopts a more dynamic posture to increase the drive of the front axle. All in the name of curve efficiency.
