It was about a month ago that we found out about the update made to the Peugeot 308. Although the French brand refers to this model as a new generation, the Peugeot bestseller repeats its predecessor's recipe, only with new stylistic notes, assistance systems and upgraded connectivity and a particulate filter for the 1.2 PureTech gasoline engine – find out more here.
As for the spiciest version of the range, the Peugeot 308 GTi, little or nothing was known – until now. Peugeot Sport's compact sports car has just been introduced for the first time.
In terms of aesthetics, the Peugeot 308 GTi uses the new aesthetic details of the entire range, such as LED lights and the chrome front grille, but adds the usual touches that only the GTi version is entitled to: redesigned air intakes, horizontal bar on the for bumpers and Peugeot/GTi inscriptions in red and the rear section in black. The Peugeot 308 GTi is also 11mm closer to the ground, which reinforces the more aggressive stance. Inside, the 308 GTi gets sport seats and a new steering wheel.
The Peugeot 308 GTi is available in the new Coupe Franche color combination – Magnetic blue and Perla Nera black.
As for the drive unit, there is nothing new. Under the bonnet is the same 1.6 e-THP petrol engine with 270 hp and 330 Nm that we already knew from the previous model, which allows accelerations from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds.
The sports car is available with a Torsen differential, 19-inch wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and 380mm front and 268mm rear brake discs and red calipers.
