The most important model since the iconic E-Type . If there were any doubts about the importance of this new Jaguar project, this is how designer Ian Callum described the Jaguar I-Pace Concept. And it could, as the I-Pace anticipates Jaguar's first all-electric production vehicle.

After the first appearance in the «Lands of Uncle Sam», the British brand dressed the Jaguar I-Pace in red for the European debut, which will take place in a few days at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Jaguar I-Pace is equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, for a total of 400 hp of power and 700 Nm of maximum torque. The electrical units are powered by a 90 kWh lithium ion battery pack.

As for performance, according to Jaguar, the electric four-wheel drive (responsible for controlling the distribution of torque) allows the I-Pace Concept is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just four seconds. A crossover that wants to be a real sports car? It seems so…

On the other hand, the brand guarantees that the autonomy can exceed 500 km in a combined cycle (NEDC). It will be possible to charge 80% of the batteries in just 90 minutes and 100% in just over two hours, with a 50 kW charger.

Inside, which we'll get to know more in detail at the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has opted for a 12-inch touchscreen in the center console, and another 5.5-inch screen at the bottom with two aluminum rotary switches, as you can see in the picture above. The first practical application of this solution was already seen in the Range Rover Velar presentation.

According to the British brand, the production version of the Jaguar I-Pace will be ready next year.
