The Renault Clio RS 220 EDC was unveiled this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The more vigorous version of the new Clio RS has 220 hp and 280Nm at 2500 rpm extracted from the 1.6 turbo engine, harmonically linked to the EDC automatic gearbox (now 30% faster).Compared to the Clio RS 200 EDC, the 220 EDC Trophy gets new electronic management, a bigger turbo and a new exhaust system. The end result is an increase of 20hp and 40Nm compared to the “normal” version. The increase in power and torque is logically reflected in its performance: it now takes just 26.4 seconds to complete the first 1,000 meters, instead of the 27.1 seconds of the so-called “normal” RS.

The steering is different and is now more precise and direct, the result of a new rack, with a reduction reduction in 10%. The chassis has been lowered about 20mm at the front and 10mm at the rear and the shock absorbers are stiffer.
In terms of design, the Renault Clio RS 220 EDC Trophy on the outside is distinguished by the presence of the “Trophy” signature on the front blade next to the grille, on the side molding and on the door sill. The wheels also "Trophy" are now 18 inches. Inside, the environment doesn't hide the inspiration of the world of competition, not missing the aluminum pedals, the bacquet-style seats, the perforated leather steering wheel and the RS Monitor 2.0 system.
The good news is that this Trophy is already available in Portugal from €30,790. The bad thing is that it will be a limited edition to only 12 units in national territory, in other words, only twelve Portuguese drivers will have the privilege of having this "pocket rocket" in their garage.
