The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is the first van from the German brand, and like any van worth its salt, its added versatility is its biggest asset compared to the car it comes from. It allowed for the first time to add a third place, albeit limited, in the second row of seats, and the luggage compartment grows around 20 liters in capacity, totaling 520 liters.
The rear volume, distinct from the Panamera saloon, also forced the design of a new spoiler – this one features three levels of opening which, depending on speed or driving mode, helps to create more downforce (up to 50 kg) on the rear axle.
It took five years since we got to know the concept for the Panamera Sport Turismo to be available for sale. The new model is produced in Leipzig, Germany, together with the Panamera saloon, the Macan and the Cayenne. Occupying an area of 400 hectares, and with 4055 employees, around 158,432 units were produced at this facility last year.
To receive the new Panamera, 500 million euros were invested in these facilities, creating new areas for bodies, a new assembly line and a new quality center, whose function is to provide the necessary support at the beginning of the production of a new model.
