BMW 5 Series, M4 CS, M5, 8 Series, M8… It was a very busy first half of the year for the Munich brand managers – the increasingly competitive market obliges it – and it seems that the next few months will not be many different.
Regarding the SUV segment, the Bavarian brand is preparing to present two absolute novelties: the BMW X2, which we already know in the form of a prototype, and the BMW X7, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September , also through a prototype.
As the name implies, the BMW X7 will be the biggest SUV produced by the German brand to date, with space for a third row of seats. The platform will be the same as the BMW 7 Series – CLAR (Cluster Architecture) – but without aesthetic terms the new model should resemble the X5, but a little taller and longer, with more square shapes and a more luxurious style.
Although it is a global model, BMW X7 will focus on the North American and Chinese market – for now, there is no confirmation that it will arrive in Portugal . As for the price, the words of BMW sales and marketing director Ian Robertson are enlightening:
Ian Robertson"Given that this model will have all the technology and luxury of the 7 Series, it gives us a pretty clear idea of what the X7 will be priced at."
As for engines, the BMW X7 will use a wide range of six and eight-cylinder engines that we already know from other models of the brand, and may even adopt a hybrid engine.
For further confirmation we will have to wait until the presentation of the BMW X7 Concept in September. The production model will only be known next year.
