When we think of English taxis, we think of the traditional Austin FX4, which for years served and continues to serve the city of London and are already deeply rooted in English culture. But in the city of Lincoln, 230 km north of London, taxi service will have a new element…
The inhabitants of the English city will have at their disposal a model that is a little different from the usual. This is because the taxi company Handsome Cabs was the first to obtain a license for a sports car in the country. And it's not just any sports car: as you can see in the image above, it's a Lamborghini Huracán.
John Bishop, one of the owners of the company."We had this idea for about 1 year, and since then we have been committed to making it a reality. We think it is something that will help make a difference. I see Huracán as a role model that can serve the youngest, for example , at proms, or adults on business trips"
According to Cath Brothwell, leader of the Lincoln Council committee that awarded the license, as a supercar with only one passenger seat, the Lamborghini Huracán will not be used like a regular taxi, but will be reserved for special occasions.
Huracán will start operating in August. “By then, we'll have to decide the rate schedule and resolve a complex issue with the insurer,” says John Bishop.
