Jaguar E-PACE is already a record holder... "flying"

Cars were designed to walk permanently in contact with the ground, and for that reason they are not the ideal vehicles for aerial stunts, those that we see, for example, on two wheels. But there are those who try – this is the case of Jaguar. Its most recent “victim” was the newly introduced E-PACE, the brand's new proposal for the compact SUV segment.

In 2015, Jaguar, living up to the feline with which it shares its name, demonstrated the acrobatic capabilities of the F-PACE, making the SUV perform a giant loop, also achieving a record. They do not believe? see here.

This time the British brand decided to put its latest offspring to the test.

And nothing less than performing an acrobatic and dramatic barrel roll . That is, the E-PACE performed a spiral jump, rotating 270° about a longitudinal axis.

Truly epic! Let's not forget that, despite being compact, there are always 1.8 tons of car in non-automobile positions.

The stunt was a success, as you can see in the video below, and earned Jaguar a Guinness World Record, with the E-PACE having covered 15.3 meters through the air, the longest distance to date measured in this maneuver by a car.

As far as I know, no production car has completed a barrel roll and so it has always been an ambition of mine to do one since I was a kid. After driving F-PACE through the record-breaking loop, it's been amazing to help launch the next chapter of the PACE family in an even more dramatic dynamic feat.

Jaguar E-PACE barrel roll

The record belongs to Jaguar, but it is no longer the first that we have seen a barrel roll by an automobile. For James Bond fans, you must surely remember 1974's The Man with the Golden Gun (007 – The Man with the Golden Gun), where an AMC Hornet X performed the same maneuver. And it only took one take.
