Since 1999, the tradition of choosing the engine of the year has been fulfilled, in an award organized by UKi Media & Events’ Automotive Magazines, which includes a panel of 58 judges from 31 countries. The results of the 2017 edition are already known.

No big surprises, and like last year, Ferrari once again took home the absolute prize for best engine of the year, with the block 3.9 V8 turbo that equips the 488 GTB/Spider. Behind were the 3.0 flat-six twin turbo from Porsche and the 1.5 twin power turbo 3-cylinder from BMW, which won in 2015. The 3.9 V8 turbo engine from Ferrari also won the Engine Performance category and the category from 3.0 to 4.0 liters.

Ferrari did not stop there as it also emerged victorious in the category of engines with more than 4.0 liters, with the 6.3 V12 that equips the F12.

Ferrari's 3.9 V8 engine delivers 670 hp at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm torque at 3,000 rpm.

This small block, which equips models such as the Ford Fiesta, the Focus, or the C-Max, won the Sub 1.0 liter category for the 6th time in a row, ahead of the Volkswagen Group's 1.0 tricylinder engine (Audi A1, Seat Ibiza, Volkswagen Polo, etc).
