Revealed about half a year ago, the Dacia Spring Electric arrived with a very simple but ambitious goal: to be the cheapest electric on the market.
For this, it is based on the “Asian” Renault K-ZE, renounces many luxuries and has an electric motor of just 33 kW (44 hp) that allows it to reach… 125 km/h of maximum speed (when selected ECO mode are limited to 100 km/h).
As for the battery, it has a capacity of 26.8 kWh and offers a 225 km range (WLTP cycle) or 295 km (WLTP city cycle).
How much does it cost in France?
With the start of orders in France scheduled for the 20th of March, prices for that country are already known.
In the base version, Comfort, which has equipment such as manual air conditioning and radio with Bluetooth, Spring Electric will see its price start in the 16 990 euros . At the most “luxury” Comfort Plus level (which brings, for example, a 7” screen), the price goes up to 18 490 euros.
As these values do not yet include the incentives to purchase existing trams in France (27% price reduction up to a limit of 6000 euros), the price may drop even further. Thus, over there the base version should stay by the 12,400 euros and Comfort Plus by 15 thousand euros.
But there's more, thanks to the incentive scheme for scrapping end-of-life vehicles put in place by the French government, it is possible that the base version will see the price drop below the 12 thousand euros mark.
And in Portugal?
For now, we still don't know how much the Dacia Spring Electric will cost in Portugal, however, the asking price in France allows us to have an estimate.
Since electric vehicles are exempt from VAT in Portugal, their price is not that much different from that practiced in other countries of the European Union, the only difference being the amount paid for VAT in Portugal (23%) and France (20%).
In this way, quick accounts, it is possible that the price of the base version is fixed, before the incentives, at 17,500 euros. As for the incentives, since it is a passenger light, the Spring Electric may have a total of a total of 3000 euros.
