With the end of the production of the iconic Defender, Jaguar Land Rover directs its plans towards autonomous vehicles.
The new British project aims to ensure that Jaguar Land Rover's future autonomous vehicles will be able to drive like humans (similar to Google's claims) – an ambitious research project that involved a multi-million pound investment. A general bet of all brands except one: Porsche.To this end, 100 models automated with sensors will be field-tested between Coventry and Solihull, in order to collect as many real-world scenarios as possible – driving habits and behavior in different traffic situations. The information will later be used to develop the possible Jaguar Land Rover autonomous driving system.

The British house refers to the importance of its future autonomous cars driving like humans as something essential, as customers are more likely to trust vehicles with artificial intelligence, than mere robots.
