The (impressive) numbers of Caramulo Motorfestival 2018

Every year, Caramulo Motorfestival drags more than 30 thousand people, for three days, to Serra do Caramulo, to see or participate in what is the largest motorized festival in Portugal.

The event features tastings, tours, exhibitions, market and demonstrations, in addition to around 40 events simultaneously. Below, we present the numbers of the 2018 edition, the biggest ever, which illustrate well the size of the team and the logistics required to raise each Caramulo Motorfestival.

  • 0 – Accidents during the Historic Caramulo Ramp;
  • 1:27,284 minutes – Time of the fastest ascent of the Historic Caramulo Ramp, performed by Joaquim Rino on his BRC 05 Evo;
  • 1.8 seconds – Time taken for the Citroën DS3 of pilot Mário Barbosa to go from 0 to 100 km/h;
  • 2.8 km – Extension of the historic Caramulo ramp;
  • 3 – GNR soldiers with uniforms, bicycles and a moped from the 50s who attended the Caramulo Motorfestival;
  • 4 – Service Parks for the various teams that climbed the Historic Caramulo Ramp in competition or demonstration;
  • 6 – Women's teams on the Historic Caramulo Ramp;
  • 6 meters – Height of the departure portico for the Historic Caramulo Ramp;
  • 7 – Cameras involved in the live transmission of Caramulo Motorfestival, including a drone;

  • 8 tons – Weight of the Autocar M3 Half Track (1943), the World War II armored vehicle that participated in the Jeep Attack!

  • 350 Km/h – Maximum speed of the Lamborghini Aventador S with which Valentino Balboni climbed the Historic Caramulo Ramp;
  • 531 – People involved in the organization of the event, including members of the organization, volunteers, stewards, observers, participants, pilots, mechanics, exhibitors, film crew, staff of GNR, INEM and Firefighters;
  • 940 hp – Volvo Racing Truck's Monster Truck power that went up the ramp in demonstration;
  • 1,104 – Cars, motorcycles and bicycles, included in the various activities of Caramulo Motorfestival, the highest number ever;
  • 1,242 – Pieces present in the exhibition “The Power of the Force: Toys and Posters of Star Wars (1977-84)” at Museu do Caramulo;
  • 1934 – Year of the Buick, the oldest car to visit the Caramulo Motorfestival and winner of the Jacques Touzet Award, supported by Roamer watches;
  • 2,414 Km/h – Maximum speed of the Air Force F-16 fighters that tore the skies of Caramulo;
  • 2,468 – Tickets to the Museu do Caramulo during the event, the highest number ever;
  • 35,000 – Number of visitors during the 3 days of the event, the highest number ever;
  • €20,081,000.00 – Total value of the 58 cars registered in the Historic Rampa do Caramulo.
