After Mercedes and the promising info-entertainment system with artificial intelligence Mercedes Benz User eXperience (MBUX), the French PSA also intends to equip its cars with a greater ability to communicate with its occupants.

Owner of the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, the French car group led by Portuguese Carlos Tavares has just celebrated a strategic partner with SoundHound Inc , a start-up in Silicon Valley, USA, with a view to achieving this goal.

A leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language voice recognition technologies, SoundHound Inc has been developing a new technology, which it named “Deep Meaning Understanding”. Solution that, according to PSA in a statement, is the only one able to instantly answer multiple questions posed in the same sentence , just as a human would do.

Thanks to this new technology, the French car group believes that future Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel models will be able to not only understand any request made by the occupants, made in a natural way and during a dialogue , how to interact faster and more fluidly.

PSA also advances that the new technology may be available on the market within two years, that is, from 2020.
