Bentley equates electric sports car with 500 hp

After the success of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6, a concept presented at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the British brand is already considering the production of a sports car with eyes set on the future.

According to Wolfgang Dürheimer, CEO of Bentley, the response from customers was quite satisfactory: “…so we intend to make this project a reality… we are thinking of two new models that fit perfectly into our portfolio”, he said during the international presentation of Bentley Bentayga.

One of these models will be a performance-oriented crossover, meaning a sportier version than the Bentley Bentayga, but which will use the same platform and have more compact dimensions. The second will be a sports coupé to position itself in the segment below the Continental GT, with the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept being a strong candidate for production lines.

But the big news is the reaffirmation of Bentley's intention to move towards alternative engines, not even ruling out a completely electric vehicle with a power between 400 and 500 horsepower. In 2014, at the Beijing Motor Show, Bentley had already presented its plans for an efficient future, where it unveiled a PHEV version of the Bentley Mulsanne. Bentley had also announced a Plug-in hybrid SUV for 2017 and it looks like the way is being made.
