After having seen the pick-up version of the Dacia Duster we were left wondering what other cars we would like to see with an open box in place of the rear seats.
Although it is not usual, there have already been brands that decided to do some cutting and sewing work with their models and launch some very interesting pick-ups, such as the Ford P100, which derived from the Ford Sierra, or the very affordable Skoda Pick-Up which derived from Felicia.
If in Europe they are not a great sales success, there are markets where pick-up trucks sell much more than conventional models. The best example is the United States of America, where the Ford F-Series sells so much that it has become the second best-selling car in the world.
South America is also no stranger to the phenomenon of pickup trucks, with the greatest success being in compact models such as the Fiat Strada, Volkswagen Saveiro or Peugeot Hoggar that delight customers. More recently, the biggest Fiat Toro has proved to be a huge success in Brazil.
Another region of the globe that has a special relationship with pick-up trucks is Australia — the Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle there — but it's the Ute that capture our imagination, becoming the equivalent of muscle cars in the universe. from the pick-ups, well away from a work car.
